Immediately Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu was sworn in as the 16th President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, May 29, the Yoruba Community In Nyanya Gwandara in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, was engulfed in celebration which lasted til late evening.
Welcoming dignitaries and Yoruba people to the occasion, the Yoruba head of Community, His Highness Oba Samson Adeyemi, said the coming of President Tinubu as leader of Nigeria at this moment of our national life is divine as the nation needs a leader with developmental vision to take her to her destined greatness.
Thanking the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. James B. Thomas, for his untiring support for the Community, Oba Adeyemi urged Yoruba citizens in the community and Nasarawa State generally to support President Tinubu’s administration to achieve its vision of a great Nigeria. Also, the monarch implored Yoruba citizens in his domain and Nasarawa State to work for continued success of Hon. James. Thomas, Karu Local Government Executive Chairman and Governor A. A Sule’s visionary strides in the state.
Extolling Hon. Thomas for his unflinching support for the development of the Yoruba Community In the Local Government, Sadiq Ibrahim, who was one of the chief organisers of the well attended occasion, praised him for his foresight for the upliftment of socio-economic life of that area of Nasarawa State.
The Local Government Executive Chairman was represented at the occasion by one his Special Advisers, Mrs. Talatu Amao. Other dignitaries at the occasion included the Yoruba monarchs in Autabalefi and Aso communities under the LGA, Otunba Gbenga Popoola, a high ranking member of Oba Adeyemi administration, Prince Salaudeen Abiodun Saminu, Public Relations Officer of the community and Otunba Dapo Olaosebikan, veteran journalist and publisher, who was a special guest at the Yoruba Community’s special celebration party for President Bola Tinubu, GCFR.
It was typical Yoruba “Owambe” party with food and drinks in abundance. On the bandstand was Tunde Gospel, a rising Fuji musician in Abuja and Nasarawa and his group who entertained the joyous Yoruba Community In Nyanya Gwandara till the wee hours of Tuesday./SHARE THIS
