Senator Oluremi Tinubu, wife of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has denied reports that she closed down the Aso Rock Chapel to bar her husband’s non-supporters from coming close to the seat of power.
Recall that over the weekend, reports emerged that the First Lady ordered the closure of the chapel because some members of the congregation did not support her husband during election.
Reacting in a statement issued by her aide, Busola Kukoyi, she said the chapel is open and holds weekly fellowship.
She added that the President is yet to appoint a Chaplain for the chapel.
“We wish to state categorically that this is a fabrication and totally false representation of the true situation, as the First Lady, at no time, gave such directive that the Chapel be shut and the keys handed over to Her Excellency.
“Presently, there are weekly fellowships going on at the Chapel.
”However, Mr. President is yet to appoint a Chaplain for the chapel after the exit of the last Chaplain, as he only reserves the right to appoint a Chaplain for the Chapel,” she said.(agency)/SHARE THIS
