The chairman of Heirs Holdings,Tony Elumelu has reacted to the flying rumours thatPresident Bola Ahmed Tinubu is considering him for the position of Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), to succeed his Delta State compatriot, Godwin Emefiele, saying , “lol. No, please. This is false news!”
The report originated from a post made by a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) member, Imran Muhammad, on a social media platform.
In the Twitter post, Muhammad suggested that President Tinubu might make Tony Elumelu the next CBN governor.
“According to a source, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is also considering Tony O. Elumelu as CBN Governor,” Muhammad wrote.
But in response to this, Tony Elumelu addressed the matter on his own Twitter page, saying, “LOL. No, please. This is false news!”/SHARE THIS
