The National Directorate of Employment [NDE], Lagos State, has initiated another round of skills acquisition training for unemployed youths in the Environmental Beautification Training Scheme [EBTS] under the Special Public Works Department.
Addressing participants at the flag-off/orientation ceremony, the Director-General of NDE, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, represented by the Acting State Coordinator in Lagos State, Mrs. Elizabeth Omatsola, revealed that twenty (20) selected participants were chosen from the three Senatorial Districts of the State. They will undergo three months of intensive training in both soft and hard landscaping, including skills in tiling and horticulture.
The Lagos State Coordinator urged the participants to be diligent and attentive throughout the training. She also encouraged them to maximize the training opportunity provided by the Federal Government of Nigeria, under the auspices of the Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment and NDE Supervisory Minister, Rt. Hon. [Barr] Nkeiruka Onyejeocha Ph.D. OON.

She also emphasized the importance of attendance and punctuality to the trainees, informing them that NDE lnspectorate officers would be conducting regular on-the-spot checks at the training centers.
The EBTS is a scheme under one of the Directorate’s core programmes conducted periodically in alignment with the Directorate’s mandate to develop and implement programs aimed at addressing widespread unemployment./PLEASE SHARE
