There is palpable confusion currently surrounding the mysterious death of a social media influencer cum online trader, Ms Adeshina Olayinka, aka Khadi, who has been found dead in a hotel room located at Akobo downtown of Ibadan, Oyo State Capital.
While some say she may have been used for money ritual ahead of the Easter celebration, others say she may have just died sudden and unnatural death known in security circle as SUD.
Olayinka was said to have told one of her friends that she wanted to go and meet someone at the hotel in Akobo on Wednesday night.
It was gathered that after Olayinka had spent the night with the person suspected to be her lover, she was found dead in the morning.
Another source said one of the receptionists who borrowed Olayinka’s power bank went to the room to return it but after knocking repeatedlyon the door, no one responded which prompted the hotel manager to come with extra card to open the door, only to discover Olayinka lying lifeless.
Yet, another account of the incident claimed she had just told her friend she wanted to meet with someone in an hotel in Akobo on Wednesday night.
“But on Thursday morning, when the man wanted to log out of the hotel, he was accosted at the reception, and the receptionist had to put call to Olayinka to confirm all is well and she pick up the call and gave permission that they should allow the man, stating that she was just resting and no cause for alarm, and that soon, she too, will lodge out.
“Later, one of the receptionists who borrowed Olayinka’s power bank went to the room for its return and knocked repeatedly on the door without response, prompting the hotel manager to come with extra card to open the door and they saw her dead. It seems she was being used for ritual”, the source added.
A source close to Olayinka said she had been spiritually warned of danger locking around the corner and that she should be wary of night crawling…to which she boasted that nothing will happen to her.
Efforts to get the Oyo State Police Command’s Spokesman, Adewale Osifeso, throw more light on the incident proved abortive as messages sent to his phone had not been replied as at the time of this report./SHARE THIS
