The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, has confirmed that his party had not yet zoned the Senate Presidency and other National Assembly posts, describing stories making the rounds on zoning of offices as rumours.
Clarifying the issue, Saturday, while chatting with newsmen after casting his vote in his polling unit in Keffi, GRA, Nasarawa State, he said: “no zoning has been established yet and agreed to; no zoning has been made public. So, anybody saying anything in that line is mere rumour, wishful rumour.”
On his assessment of the governorship poll, he said: “The election has been peaceful so far, and it is good for everybody because we need peace to conduct an election.”

He added: “I just arrived here at about 12 noon, but the electorates in this polling unit that I am witnessing appear not to come out to vote. I expect more than this. But it is not over until it is over.
“I have appealed to the people before today to come out and vote, particularly for APC. I have not gone round yet to other polling units. However, I hope that the turnout will be more encouraging in all the polling stations.
“By the Grace of God, if the rule permits, I will say that we will win the governorship in Nasarawa State.”
However, when asked if there is pressure on him to leave his position or step down as the National Chairman of the APC, he said: “I don’t respond to rumours.”/SHARE THIS
