The governor of Nasarawa State of Nigeria, Abdullahi Sule, is presently in shock after N40m cash has disappeared from his bedroom at the government house.
The governor has been left in absolute disbelief after mint-fresh dollars valued at over N40 million stashed away in his bedroom at the government house disappeared.
According to the OBSERVERSTIMES report, the missing money, kept in drawers in the governor’s bedroom, were leftovers from a trough of hard currency stashed away in a private security safe in the apartment.
The report said the governor expressed surprise that despite the water-tight security in the lodge, coupled with the fact that the locks to that section of the lodge, including the governor’s bedroom, were routinely changed, the money still disappeared in the manner it did.
The source who spoke with OBSERVERSTIMES on the development said that the Government and the Governor don’t want anybody to discuss the issue or make any official statement on this embarrassing incident.
While it was yet to be ascertained what the next moves of the governor on the missing money stolen is, there are speculations that some key loyalists working in the Governor’s lodge may be punished for “apparent negligence in allowing the real culprits to gain access to the otherwise restricted area of the lodge.
The source said Stewards working at the Nasarawa State governor’s lodge in Lafia have been put under close watch and accusing fingers were being pointed at another staff member at the lodge described as one of those in charge of the overall management of the apartment./PLEASE SHARE
