The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced its 2024 Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (SADTS) for carefully selected participants in Lagos State interested in developing skills/self-employment in SADTS.
Participants at the SADTS training would be taken through two (2) weeks of theoretical training and ten (10) weeks of intense practical training. at the flag-off ceremony, the acting State Coordinator, Mrs. Elizabeth Omatsola, who represented the Director General NDE, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, NCE, FITD, FANPA, FnLi, disclosed that SADTS is one of the training programmes offered by the NDE to assist in creating mass job opportunity to Nigerians. She further explained that it is one of the training programmes offered by the NDE to assist farmers in remaining productive during their off-season cycles.
The aim of this training will, amongst others, create employment for the rural communities through training on modern innovative agricultural technology (exotic vegetable crops/livestock production skills) along its value chain, improve the livelihood of the rural people, reduce rural-urban migration and expose unemployed youths to the potential in exotic vegetable crops and livestock production farming business.
Mrs. Elizabeth Omatsola expressed her appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment, NDE supervising Minister, Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Nkiruka OnyejeochaPh.D.OON, who has made it possible for NDE to promote Agriculture as a business and attract unemployed Nigerians into modern agriculture in tandem with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President.

She urged the participants to see this gesture as a rare opportunity which should not be allowed to fail, noting that with this training, they will be empowered in modern agricultural activities including off-farm activities and life skills to be able to overcome the challenge of their immediate environment./PLEASE SHARE
