The leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has directed all workers to picket all the Central Bank of Nigeria offices nationwide starting from next week over the current cash crunch in the country.

NLC President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, gave the directive during a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday.

The labour leader said the directive became imperative on the heels of the expiration of one-week ultimatum given to the apex bank to make cash available for Nigerians.

Recall that the NLC had, last week, given the CBN and commercial banks in the country a one-week ultimatum to make naira notes available to workers and Nigerians or damn the consequence.

The union said it would direct workers nationwide for a stay-at-home exercise should the apex bank pooh-pooh their warning and continue to put Nigerians through hell of a moment via unbearable cash squeeze./SHARE THIS
