Just in: 17 INEC ad-hoc staff kidnapped, rescued without BVAS, electoral materials in Imo

Hoodlums have kidnapped 17 ad-hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) posted to 19 wards at Ideato South Local Government Area in Imo State.

Though the staff who were kidnapped on their way to work were later rescued by quick intervention of the police, rescue was not with the electoral materials and BVAS meant for the day’s voting exercise.

Confirming the incident, the State INEC spokesperson, Dr.  Chinenye Chijioke-Osuji, said: “they have been rescued, but without electoral materials and BVAS.”(agency report)/SHARE THIS
