Maryam Shettima, a former ministerial nominee from Kano State, widely known as Maryam Shetty, has tied the knot with her beloved partner.
The wedding nikkah was held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, in Kano State.
This comes barely 10 months after missing the opportunity of being a member of President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet.
In August 2023, Tinubu nominated Shetty for a ministerial position from her native Kano State. However, a few days later, she lost the opportunity to high-wire politics.
President Tinubu replaced Shetty with Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, her classmate, through a communication to the Senate, delivered by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, on the same day she was scheduled to be screened by the lawmakers.
Mariya Mahmoud was later appointed the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Since the incident last year, which left her dumbstruck at the premises of the National Assembly, Maryam Shetty’s public visibility had reduced significantly until this Saturday’s joyous occasion./PLEASE SHARE
