President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the withdrawal of the nomination of Imam Kashim Imam as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA).
A statement issued by the president’s Special Adviser on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, simply said: “The President’s withdrawal of the above-mentioned nomination is directed with immediate effect.
“All other appointments to the Board and Executive Management team of FERMA are not affected by this directive.”
Though no obvious reason was given for Imam’s withdrawal, The State Online learnt it might not be unconnected with the dust raised on social media concerning the 24-year-old Imam’s zero experience, being a very fresh graduate.
Being such an inexperienced fresh graduate, social media pundits had raised alarm over his ability to handle such a very sensitive agency as FERMA concerned with repairs and maintenance of sprawling network of federal roads scattered around the country.
