…Entire building, court documents lost

Some armed men have reportedly set on fire the state High Court in Owutu Edda Community, Afikpo South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The attack which happened on Tuesday night, March 21, 2023, is the first on any public facility in Ebonyi State since the conclusion of the 2023 Presidential and National Assembly elections.
Oluchi Uduma, the Registrar of the court confirmed the attack to newsmen in Owutu-Edda on Wednesday morning.
According to her, the hoodlums invaded the court on Tuesday, setting the building ablaze.
Furthermore, Uduma explained that the court building, documents, and other valuables were burnt entirely.
The Chairman of Afikpo South Local Government Area (LGA), Chima Nkama, also confirmed the incident. He said police have been briefed.
Similarly, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ebonyi State Police Command Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the attack, but said details are still sketchy.(agency)/SHARE THIS
