Addressing journalists, Adelabu said that the present government is committed to improving the standard of living of the people and their daily living standard.
He added that he is aware of the current economic hardship and sufferings that people are going through and assured that the country would soon get over the challenges.
He said the rice distribution does not have the political colouration but in the furtherance of good governance to the people and to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
During the exercise, he enjoined the people to continue to support the present administration in giving out the good governance to the people and assured them not to relent in his effort to the people from the core economic hardship.
He said: “President Tinubu has decided to give us our own share in Oyo State, the palliative has no political correlation but in furtherance of good governance.
“We will ensure the distribution is transparent and cut across every religious, traditional, ethnic associations and other residents in the state and that is why we decided to make it transparent.
“I want to urge the people to continue to support Tinubu’s administration, all we need from you is your continued prayers for God to guide us and ensure we make the country better than we met it.
“This is phase one of the food security as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we shall be witnessing the distribution regularly and as much as we get supply from Abuja, we shall not hoard it but distribute it evenly.”
Meanwhile, the development has generated mixed reactions from netizens with many questioning the government’s choice of asking the Minister of Power to distribute the grains while Nigerians continue to be faced with epileptic power supply.
Others claimed nothing is unbecoming in assigning the minister to distribute palliative despite not being the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs. They added that the minister is from the state after all.
